The MYRAT castle, due to the particularity of its Barsac terroir, is a wine that combines aromatic power and freshness. Each vintage is very specific: delicate or extravagant, it will reveal the particularity of its harvest days, with always one priority: seeking finesse, elegance and balance.
Myrat was classified during the 1855 imperial classification of Médoc, Sauternes and Barsac. This has a price, that of aiming for excellence!
It is not being an artist to produce a great vintage, it is rigor, requirement and a permanent challenge, that of artistic craftsmanship, hand-sewn, where man remains humble and submissive to Mother Nature!
The harvests are done exclusively by hand by successive sorting. A superb first sorting, a very precise selection that year where the episodes of rain punctuated the harvest.
Each day of harvest is separate. Fermentation is done in barrels. The stopping and balance of each day of harvest is done after analysis and tasting.
Spicy tapas, foie gras, duck rillettes. Chicken curry or braised veal chop. Magnificent on a cheese platter (Roquefort, old Comté…). On a tangy dessert with exotic fruits or citrus fruits.
