We are looking for an elegant woodiness that will round out the tannins without distorting the fruit and the terroir of Peychaud. Composed in 2019 of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon – superb, the special cuvée is a fine, precise wine, with a beautiful aromatic complexity (spices, small red and black fruits). Careful aging in oak barrels allows it to express power and elegance.
“Beautiful deep red color. A nose of cherry and ripe red fruits, with floral and spicy notes. Beautiful aromatic complexity on the palate with notes of blackberries, spices and vanilla. Silky and seductive: a little pleasure!”
Food & Wine Pairings: It accompanies gourmet cuisine: beautiful piece of meat, game, mature cheese, fruit desserts. Chocolate.

Bettane & Desseauve: “Today, the two daughters of Jacques de Pontac continue the work of this family, which is a bit like the history of France (their ancestor and founder of the estate was the secretary of King Henri IV). The wines of Château Peychaud are precise, very fruit-oriented, elegant, tasty, balanced and refined.”
